Mexican Night

I'm a pretty easy person to please if I do say so myself!!!! :)

Good food, good friends, a glass of wine or a margarita, and I am one HAPPY LADY!

Well, obviously with Baby W on the way there has been one change in the above statement. No wine or margaritas for me. I truly didn't drink very often before getting pregnant. Usually twice a month Hubs and I would go to our favorite local restaurant {54th Street} and enjoy half price appetizers and a margarita, and on an occasion we would visit wineries.

Truth be told though, I have missed relaxing with a glass of wine or a margarita more then I care to admit.

So last night we had Mexican Night with our sweet friends Ryan and Maryl.

Maryl made the dips!

a spicy salsa, a amazing guacamole, and a delicious jalepeno dip!
I can't tell you how much this hit the spot!!!!

Hubs made the ranch chicken tacos!

I skipped the cards and wrapped mine in lettuce, but there were lots of soft taco shells on hand!
his recipe is super easy, and man oh man are they simply awesome!!!!

I made Mock Margaritas!!!!

they were without a doubt the most delicious things I have tasted! {LOL}
Okay, that is an exaggeration, but they were soooo good!!!!

CHEERS!!!!!

We ended the night of eating playing the board game Ticket To Ride.
Hubs and I highly recommend it :)

It is easy to learn and not a whole lot of thinking involved.

Thanks sweet friends for a VERY fun night!!!!!

14 weeks 5 days

Baby W is the size of a naval orange!!! I just can't even imagine that! As far as we know she/he is growing healthy and strong. Mommy is still nauseous and still praying it ends soon.

I still haven't felt baby move but I'm getting more and more anxious!!! Perhaps in another few weeks!!! We have another appointment on the 8th of March. Just a check-up, but I'm hopeful we will be blessed to hear the heart beat again!!

Still no real proof there is a baby growing in me yet. {LOL} I have only put on a half pound {that's after losing for the first 3 months} and my jeans still button first thing in the morning. I know baby is there, but where is she/he hiding????

How far along? 14 weeks 5 days

Cravings: OREO COOKIES!!!!!!!!! I still want them every single morning!
Biggest Moment: getting closer and closer to moving :)
Movements: nothing ... hoping for very soon!
What I'm looking forward to: seeing the Floors sanded down in the house! Hoping it will start this weekend!
Baby's Milestones: Baby's well defined face can now make expressions like a squint or a frown. Some babies start growing hair and eyebrows.

Changes!!!

There are a lot of changes happening in the Watson house.

We have since we got married lived in an itty bitty 400 square foot apartment. It is darling, but we have been busting at the seams far before Baby W came into the picture! For sometime we have been praying about moving our sweet family. Should we move to another apartment, and at what price range did we feel comfortable. With a lot of school loan debt between the both of us, we really wanted to make a smart decision for our futures not just an easy decision for right now.

God's plan was far bigger then we ever could of imagined ...

We have been blessed with a wonderful 3 bedroom, 1 bath home close to our parents. It needed and still needs a lot of work, but it is soooo exciting to be moving into our very first HOME!!!!!!

Here are a few cell phone photos because I just can't wait any longer. :) I promise to get some much nicer ones soon though.

This is the kitchen from the living room.
WE HAVE A DISHWASHER!!!!!! :)
-- the stove is being replaced, and the track lighting is already gone. There use to be a terribly ugly fruit wall paper trim that is already gone as well. LOL
Grandpa Watson is hard at work changing out the light above the sink ... I would love to paint the cabinets and change the hardware, but it will be a process.

This is the bathroom. :)
When you walk in the tub is on the right, and further up is the vanity and toilet.
We have big plans to paint, change the window treatments, and add a dark wood "closet" for storage.

The whole house except bathroom and kitchen have the original hardwood floors.
Soon Grandpa Holschen will be resanding them and restaining them. It will make the whole house look brand new!!
This room is our master. I plan to change the window treatments, purchase new bedroom furniture and paint!!! Hubs and I are soooo excited!!!!!!!!

Here is Baby W's Room!!!
We already know where exactly we want each piece of furniture, even though we have no furniture bought! Being in the room evokes such happiness as in a few months we will be bringing home a sweet baby to live in the space.
David and I know how the nursery will look if Baby W is a girl or a boy!!! {I have been planning my painting projects for MONTHS now}

This is the soon to be CHRISTINA STUDIO DESIGNS office!!!!!!
WHOO HOO!!!!!
We plan to paint add a beautiful desk {hopefully handbuilt by Grandpa Holschen} some gorgeous book shelves, nice seating for clients, and of course a tv for all my viewing pleasure. This room is directly across from Baby W's room. The rooms actually share a long closet so while baby is napping I can see into the bedroom. :)

So needless to say, WE ARE SO BLESSED!!
The house is more then we ever could of imagined, and we are beyond excited.

I promise to keep you updated with before and after photos as I don't doubt the house is going to go through MAJOR renovations over the next few months. If all goes well we will be moving in end of April to the beginning of May. YAY!!!!!!!

A very very very very very special thank you to our family, and dear friends who have put their blood, sweat and tears into the house so far. There are just too many people to name, but please know David and I appreciate ALL of you, and as soon as we can we will have everyone over for a very yummy meal!!!!!

A Good Laugh

Not a whole lot new in the world of Baby W. Still taking the medicine, and still only getting sick once a day. :) I'm slowly eating more solid foods, and it is a real treat. {LOL}

This week, I can't get enough of oreo cookies!! Seriously, I want them every morning for breakfast. Hubs didn't like me just eating oreos though ... so, I have to have something else with it. :) This morning I had a yummy plate of strawberries, blueberries, and oreos.

Here are a few pictures that make me laugh. Last week we went with Grandma and Grandpa Watson to Lotawata Creek for dinner. I ordered a simple order of mashes potatoes with gravy ... it was yum.

Hubs however ordered a mammoth burger, and I'm not kidding!!!

Even our waiter was shocked he was able to eat it like an actual sandwich stating that most people take it apart. Hubs was very proud of himself! :)

He didn't eat the whole thing, but he certainly ate half ... we will milk it up to sympathy eating. {LOL}

How far along? 13 weeks 3 days

Cravings: OREO COOKIES!!!!!!!!!
Biggest Moment: getting closer and closer to moving :)
Movements: nothing yet ... I simply cannot wait!
What I'm looking forward to: VACATION! I bought a belly band so I can wear jeans and not sweatpants the whole trip. LOL
Baby's Milestones: Babys body is starting to catch up and grow more proportional to his/her head. Baby's motor skills are starting to work and baby is able to move and flex the arms and legs ... but I won't be able to feel the movement until a little later.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I love Valentine's Day ... simply because I love loving!

I don't think sharing love is dependent on having a significant other. You can send and share love with everyone. I know, easier said then done. If you are single hang in there ... David and I love you!!!!!!!!

Hubs and I are celebrating with a nice quiet night at home. {This is our last Valentine's day just the two of us you know!!!!} A little shrimp pasta, a salad, some garlic bread, grape juice cocktail and I'm going to make some chocolate covered strawberries .... for baby W of course. ;)

Also, we are 13 weeks today! We are officially out of the first trimester! So Happy Valentine's Day Sweet Baby. Next year Mommy promises heart shaped food and snuggle time with love movies. ;)

I'm thankful the last 3 days I haven't gotten sick, and I have eaten solid food. Unfortunately I'm still taking the medicine. Without it I wouldn't be eating anything. Everyone has told me it will go away ... praying they are right. I'm ready for it anytime. I feel like I have spent the last 3 months feeling like a complainer, and I am so ready to really really ENJOY the next few months!

12 Weeks 2 days

Daddy and I heard your heartbeat today!
It is the most amazing sound!!! It was 164 beats per minute little one. It has me wondering ... could the old wives tale be true?? Are you a girl??

It doesn't matter, we love you so!!!!

12 weeks has gone by slow at times and fast at others. Still feeling nausea but keeping food down better then ever. Only getting sick once per day sure beats 5 or 6 times!!!! Our next appointment is in 4 weeks and in 8 weeks we will find out the gender.

Grandma and Grandpa Holschen are feeling it is a girl, and Grandma and Grandpa Watson are thinking boy. How exciting!!!!! We shall know soon enough!

How far along? 12 weeks 2 days

Cravings: nothing yet this week ...
Biggest Moment: Hearing the heartbeat again!!!
Movements: Nada, zilch  ...
What I'm looking forward to: Our last family vacation before baby W is born in March!!!
Baby's Milestones: Features on baby's face are becoming more defined. The eyes have moved towards the front of the face and the chin and nose have taken shape.
baby's tiny fingernails are well formed on fingers that will soon be able to open and close.

An Unexpected Adventure

I noticed yesterday some strange symptoms were beginning to take over my body. I was slurring my words, drooling, and become short of breath super easily. At first I didn't think anything of it, but it became harder and harder to breath. SO, I called my OB and she said, Go to the ER!!!

I was not excited about it, but off mom and I went. We ended up going to Memorial, and when we first walked in the door I thought we were going to be there for hours! It was jam packed with people. Luckily because of Baby W we were considered high priority, and they took us to a registry and triage area separated from the main waiting room.

Then they took blood directly from my heart through my pulse vein {It HURT}, made me pee in a cup, took more blood, and put an IV in me.

After a lot of waiting, they gave me 100mg of benadryl, 50 mg in the form a shot straight through my iv and 50mg in tablet form. I was so super thankful it was a pill and not a liquid!

I felt the immediate release and golly did it make a huge difference!

Talk about a frustrating day. I was finally beginning to feel better, and then this silly reaction. Golly Golly. I will be 12 weeks Monday, and I am praying every single night I'm feeling more normal soon.

The day ended with a major fight with the insurance company regarding pills, but thankfully we won, and I am doing fine today. I was able to enjoy some of HUBS surprise breakfast!

Now we are heading over to my parents to make oreo footballs for tomorrows big PACKERS VICTORY!

Have a blessed day everyone and thanks for all the prayers,

Plum-tastic!

11 1/2 weeks pregnant!

I learned that our baby is the size of a plum! A PLUM!!!! Like just last week it was a prune .... that is a whole lot of developing! Makes me a little nervous. LOL No pressure right, I'm just cooking a kid. ;)

The last few days I have been feeling pretty good which is a sigh of relief from before. I kept down a hashbrown from McDonalds yesterday which may seem like a small thing but it felt like a giant leap!! I have an appointment coming up to get some blood drawn. Should be easy, but I HATE needles. You better be thankful I love you so much Baby W!!!!!!

Not a whole lot much else new .... I will post an updated photo later. :)

How far along? 11 1/2 weeks

Cravings: krispy kreme icing filled donuts and nerd ropes!!!! (a week of sweets so far!)
Biggest Moment: Keeping down solid foods several times.
Movements: Nothing ...
What I'm looking forward to: New housing developments in the works!!
Baby's Milestones: My uterus is starting to get too big to fit in my pelvic area and is beginning to rise up into my abdomen.

In Remembrance

To My Precious Baby:

You are loved beyond words, and thought of every second of every day. Your daddy and I are so busy planning for your arrival into this big world. We talk about you nonstop and dream about your eyes and hair and even your nose shape. We love you so much already!

Please remember our darling, that family is so so important. Every single person. From your siblings to your great great great uncles, all are so special and unique.

You lost your great great great Uncle Bob today. Just a few hours ago actually, and the truth is I know without a shadow a doubt he loved you even though he never met you ... because, that is the kind of man he was. Someone with a contagious smile, and a heart three sizes too big!! I'm sorry you will never have a chance to meet him on this earth precious one, but your Daddy and I desire for you to grow up in knowledge and stature of the Lord. And then someday, someday you will meet your great, fun, funny, eclectic, stubborn, Great Great Great Uncle Bob.

Until then ... you should know:
- He loved the Lord!!!!!
- He loved airplanes & could spend hours looking at them
- He loved your Great Great Great Aunt Louise very much
- He was so so soooo funny!!

In August, when asked to smile for a picture he said "Here, get my best side!"

- He was a fabulous father, grandfather, uncle, friend etc etc etc to so so many.
- He could "pull" his thumb right off his hand!!!
- He told stories with his hands & shoke his head in disgust over issues
- His smile could light a dark alley

Such a kind man!!

- His laugh alone could make you start laughing
- He pulled my pants down at Lake Michigan when I was just a little girl by spinning me in circles. ;)
- He was sooo goofy!!!!!!!!!

I don't remember what he was doing, but his eyes look mischievous!!!

hahaha!!!!!!!!

taking a picture while getting his picture taking.

- Your mommy loves him & will miss him very much!!!
