Hump Day Surprise!

I <3 my husband for many many many reasons. :)

Reason #822 : He can READ MY MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we got home this afternoon he said I'm going to run to Schnucks, and then I'll be right back. When he returned, he insisted I stay out of the kitchen! LOL

This was my view form the living room :)

This was the surprise!
HEAVEN!!!!

Homemade perfect banana split.
ohh man, it was soooo good.

I'm going to miss my built-in shelf when Aaden gets here.
WINK WINK

Thanks Hubs!

Craftin' Momma

David isn't the only one around our house trying new things. :)
I love love love to craft, but it usually involves paper & scissors. I have always wanted to learn to sew, but never seemed to find the time.

Back in May I visited my best friend Suzy, and we crafted together for two whole days. Suz taught me how to sew! Since then, I have been practicing quite a bit.

Earlier this month, my mom and I went to a baby consignment sale and I bought 9 bibs for about $2.00. There was nothing wrong with them, but I just thought they were kind of boring. SOOOO ... I went to work!

Mom helping cut some fabric out.

crafting is so relaxing to me!

Personalized tie bib

Airplane Bib
I will add a "smoke" line coming from the plane before it's done.

A dino and volcano

a fully completed paint palette :)

I also have an elephant {of course!}, whale, and puppy in the works.
SOOOOO much fun.

Cheap project but oh so simple & adorable if I do say so myself.

Thanks Suz for teaching me!

Rolling Rolling Rolling

With the anticipated arrival of Baby A, we have been doing quite a few things we normally wouldn't do. As I showed you yesterday, Hubs has been helping paint the nursery, and this weekend he put together a stroller ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!

Normally we would of asked one of the grandparents over to help because, while Hubs is totally capable, he gets frustrated with directions easily. ;) He liked to be able to look at projects and see how they go together ... not read about it.

However, it was one of his goals to get the stroller together all by himself. The stroller is awesome for a few reasons. 1) It is extra light -- suppose to be easier for me to lift in & out of the car when Hubs isn't with me  AND 2) it is also a car seat.

Even though sweet Aaden isn't in it yet {obviously} I get emotional even looking at it. I'm so excited for my precious bundle to be here.

Reading the directions for how the wheels go on. ;)

Wheels on :)

Alright, it is up right.
Only a few more steps!

WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

Last step before we are ready to ROLL!!!!!!!!

:)

So very proud of him!
now we just have to get the car seat installed correctly ... LOL
That is this afternoons project!

One Happy Daddy

Many of you know my sweet husband as the analytical brainiac he is. ;) Art is not his forte, and although he has more skills then I think he realizes, he has been a GREAT help with Aaden's nursery.

and ... I think he has even enjoyed helping ... even if he won't admit it fully. LOL

hard at work using my homemade stencils  ;)

Look at that smile!
You can't fool me HUBS! I will make you a "craft man" yet!!!!!!

Maternity PhotoShoot

Hubs and I were blessed to have our maternity photos taken by our favorite photographer Devin Webb from Devin Noel Photography. She is simply wonderful!!! I cannot say enough good things about her talent, personality, and "photographers eye." {You should totally talk to her if you want photos taken!!}

Throughout my pregnancy I have not always felt the most beautiful, but I'm not sure you would know that from the pictures. Devin managed to make me look and feel beautiful. Looking at the photos brings tears to my eyes because I know down the line they will be a precious reminder of this time in our lives.

Feel free to look, and family you can purchase if you see something you like. Just leave a comment or send me a message with the number you want. We want to make sure the watermark is not on your prints. :)

Here are a few of David and Is personal favorites:

Thank you Devin for capturing our pregnancy in such a unique and beautiful way.
We can't wait to get pictures of our sweet Aaden with you!!!

St. Johns Tour & Dinner Date

Hubs and I have been anxious to take the St. Johns Tour for awhile. We wanted to see the rooms, and get a feel for how things would work when the BIG DAY arrives.

The tour was wonderful! We adore the hospital, the staff, and all its amenities. :) I think it is a perfect fit for us. Now hopefully we can remember everything when the day gets here ... LOL.

The tour was about an hour long, but the best part was seeing the new moms being wheeled back to their rooms with huge smiles on their faces. We couldn't help but get excited as we realize that will be us in such a short time. :) We did stop at the nursery too, and the sweet nurse held up a darling boy for all of us to see. He was 9lbs. 11oz and I cringed at the thought, LOL. He was adorable and beautiful and BIG!!!!! Brought tears to my eyes though ... it won't be long now.

Since our hospital is in such a cool part of St. Louis ... the Creve Couer Area ... we couldn't help but make the whole night something special.

Hubs treated me to Stir Crazy!!!

Have you been??? Seriously, you should go! It is awesomely wonderfully. They have a full menu of chinese dishes that look and smell amazing, but we go for only ONE THING!!!!

THE DO IT YOURSELF STIRFRY!!!!!

Oh My. It is sinful.

You are given a big bowl and a small cup that sits on this fancy wire contraption {sorry for the poor visual, lol} and then you take it up to the bar where there are tons and tons of toppings. You get to choose whatevever you want in your stir fry from pineapple to water chestnuts to broccoli to mushrooms. That is step 1.

At step 2 you fill your small cup up with the sauce of your choice. They again have about 12 options form teriyaki {my fav} to spicy basil {Hubs fav}.

Step 3 is passing your concotion to the wok master who perfectly wok fries your meal with the protein of your choice and lo mein noodles or fried rice.

OH MY LANTA!!!!!! It is seriously good!!!!!!!!!!

This was my dinner.
I promise, it tastes better then it looks!
{and I think it looks pretty darn good!}

Hubs and his Stir Fry.
YUM YUM YUM!

Then, because I am the coupon queen lately, LOL, we had a free coupon for dessert.
We tried for the first time their fried banana wontons.

AMAZING!!!!!!!
This may be the craving I desire for the next month.
It was bananas and white chocolate stuffed into fried wonton shells and drizzled with a cinnamon sugar and carmel mixture. And who could forget the dallop of vanilla ice cream.

Thank you my <3 for a wonderful date night not soon to be forgotten.
You are so special to me, and I can't say enough how much I adore you. Thanks for being a part of this journey with me ... I hear it only gets better. ;)

Khaleb's Birthday

Miya & Khaleb are my cousins, and they hold a dear dear place in our hearts. We enjoy spoiling them rotten when given the opportunity. :)

On Wednesday was {WOW I FEEL OLD} Khaleb's fifth birthday. He has grown into such a sweet sweet little guy, and I can only hope Aaden is as bright eyed and smiley as he is.

We spent the whole day together ... with Khaleb steering the boat. :)

He wanted donuts for breakfast, so we took him to the best donut place I know of!!!

Khaleb chose the sprinkled one!
I think more got on his face then in his mouth!!!! ;)

Miya Moo chose the raspberry filled.
She ate it all!

Posing with David.
They sure do LOVE him!!!!!

After breakfast we went and spent part of the morning with Grandma. Miya read us all books, and David and I were so impressed by how much she has learned in just a year. That girl has LOOKS and BRAINS!!! Kimmy better watch out. ;)

Once we got Grandma lunch we headed out for adventure #2. WAL-MART. ;)
We really had to go, but this is especially funny because for several years now David has teased the kids that their surprise is Wal-Mart ... and Miya being the wittiest thing I have ever met always says "David Wal-Mart is NOT a surprise" It is a treasured memory we have as simple as it is. The kiddos got to pick out candy.

It is funny how their choices reflected their personalities. Khaleb went straight for the reeses pieces and was done in 5 seconds. Miya wondered for what felt like hours trying to decide {LOL} and finally chose the sour life savers. Khaleb chooses sweet & Miya chooses sour ... PERFECT!!!!!!!

Khaleb chose McDonalds for lunch & afterwards we went and saw Mr. Popper's Penguins at the cinema. {Thank you Sarah for being AWESOME!!!!} Both kids loved it.

What special time it is when it is spent together. Being with them gets me more & more ready for Aaden's arrival!!!!!!

HURRY UP SWEETIE BOY!!!!!!!!!!

35 Weeks

Pregnancy truly is a miracle! I have felt so so so many emotions the last few months, and while I'm about done being pregnant {at least in my own mind. LOL} it has been an overwhelming, miraculous, amazing, entertaining, and sometimes downright painful experience.

35 weeks.

It sounds like forever away from 40 weeks and meeting sweetie boy, and yet it also seems so so so very close. I'm doing the best I can to relish every moment. Embracing every kick, laughing at the sight of my tummy moving, and just trying to remember all my feelings along the way.

I am ready to not be pregnant anymore, and just have Aaden in my arms, and yet I know I will miss the feelings of being pregnant. Such a weird mixture of emotions ...

35 weeks!
Yes, I really am HUGE!!!!!!!!!

;)

Come on out Aaden, Mommy & Daddy are dying to meet you!

I am beginning to think I am crazy... seriously, crazy. ;)
I have become obsessed with elephants. I shop for them everywhere, dream about them, and doodle them in my free time.
